Crown Aero Group, a member of ANG World, today confirmed that it is exploring the development of a general aviation hub in Saudi Arabia. The proposed project would bring together, on a single site, a regional aircraft assembly and service centre, a maintenance and repair organisation, a flight academy, an aero club and a private aerodrome with its own runway.
The company is currently in discussions with prospective investment partners and with Saudi authorities. No binding agreements have been concluded, and the project remains at an evaluation stage.
Why Saudi Arabia
Saudi Arabia has set out one of the most ambitious civil aviation programmes in the world. Under the National Aviation Strategy, the Kingdom has committed to attracting some USD 100 billion of investment into the sector by 2030. The General Authority of Civil Aviation has separately targeted a roughly tenfold increase in the contribution of general aviation to national GDP over the same period, and has a pipeline of dedicated general aviation airports and business aviation terminals in development.
Against that backdrop, the region’s capacity to build, register and maintain light aircraft locally remains limited. Crown Aero Group’s proposal is intended to address that gap by establishing assembly and after-sales capability inside the Kingdom rather than importing finished aircraft into it.
What the hub would comprise
- A regional building centre for certified assembly of kit-built aircraft, with a designed capacity of up to 100 aircraft a year.
- A service and maintenance centre supporting the installed fleet across the region.
- A private aerodrome with its own runway, offering parking, movements and infrastructure access.
- A flight academy and an aero club, together with facilities for exhibitions and industry events.
The assembly hall is being specified as a multi-type facility. Rather than being configured around a single aircraft, it is designed around the assembly process common to kit-built aircraft, so that additional programmes from other manufacturers could be accommodated with their own tooling and type training rather than a separate building. Crown Aero Group is in early-stage discussions with other manufacturers on that basis.
The aircraft
The first programme envisaged for the site is the ANG, a five-seat aircraft with a full carbon-fibre airframe, a Rotax 916 iS turbocharged engine, a dual-screen glass cockpit and a ballistic recovery parachute fitted as standard. The type cruises at 350 km/h with a range of 2,500 km, and a certified demonstrator is in service today.

Status
The project is at an exploratory stage. Site selection, financing, regulatory approvals and any government support remain subject to formal agreement and documentation. Crown Aero Group will provide further information at the appropriate time.

The ANG WORLD structure was created to form an international ecosystem around the ANG aircraft. It connects the aircraft with owners, dealers, and markets worldwide through marketing, dealer network development, Build-Assist centers, and an international quality standards system. The ANG aircraft is a premium next-generation light 5-seat airplane. It was first designed and built in 2019 by leading Ukrainian aircraft engineers. Its all-carbon construction makes the aircraft lighter and stiffer.
